Them There Then That

Them There Then That

A Story about stories by Tabitha Grove

  • About

It isn’t just books that hold our stories. It's the people. It’s the places. It’s the times. It’s the objects around us.

We've all created stories from the moment that we could. We haven't always written them though. We've drawn them, we’ve spoken them and we’ve sung them. And the point of all this? To share them. Join Big City Read Artist in residence Tabitha Grove as she explores the beauty of the way everything holds a story. If we listen carefully enough, these tales can even help us create our own stories.

Inspired by Kate Atkinson's Behind the Scenes at the Museum, Them There Then That is a brand new solo performance developed in partnership with Explore York, touring York Libraries in October 2022 as part of the Big City Read.

  • Tabitha Grove

Tabitha grew up in North Yorkshire where she found her passion in theatre, acting from the age of four and she never stopped! She later trained as a Costumier at the Northern College of Costume. She is a visual artist specializing in ink and gilding whose work explores our relationships with ourselves and our surroundings

Tabitha brings her skills together to make challenging, honest, creative work that moves us to question what makes us, us. Crucially, she wants her work to inspire people to be open minded, inquisitive, playful, and see ourselves in whole new lights (preferably disco lights).
