Photo Fringe invites artists using digital technology to propose an innovative, participation-led, lens-based project that will engage audiences with our theme this year of Real Utopias.

The project will be the keynote exhibition on the Photo Fringe website and exhibited in Brighton CCA (Dorset Place gallery) throughout October. 

The selected artist or collective will receive:

  • a fee of £3,000 plus production costs up to £500

  • support from a facilitator to work with their chosen target community

  • digital project development mentoring with Black Shuck Coop (up to 5 days with James Wreford)

  • additional mentoring from Monica Alcazar-Duarte, artist and Kay Watson, Head of Arts Technology, Serpentine

Rural Arts is pleased to announce our next Scratch Night at The Courthouse, taking place on Saturday October 8th 2022. We are looking for 4 artists/companies to share a maximum of 20 minutes of a work-in-progress performance to a live audience, who can offer feedback on your work.

The genres we are looking are include theatre, dance, live art, spoken word, music, comedy and mixed disciplines. We will give preference to artists/companies based in North Yorkshire and York, and the wider North, as part of our commitment to developing our local and regional performance sector.

We are looking for a creative, compassionate individual who loves meeting and supporting individuals from all backgrounds. You will work collaboratively within the nationally recognised, award-winning Creative Engagement team (National Dementia Care Awards 2018, nominee Best Age Friendly Outreach 2021 Fantastic for Families Awards, listing in Stage100 2021 for Playhouse Connect) plus wider Playhouse staff, stakeholders and partner organisations, to deliver inspiring, engaging and impactful creative activities that use theatre to open up possibilities for people. Through your care, creativity and knowledge of theatre-based projects, you’ll share all of the great things that a large producing theatre in a diverse city can offer.

ou will assist our artists in preparation for our Hebden Bridge Community Summer Parade: working alongside them during community workshops creating parade costumes and masks; helping to prepare materials for workshops; helping to prepare, repair and make artwork in readiness for parade; work as crew during the parade.  You will be an integral part of parade preparations and activities, which will provide an exclusive insight into the community carnival and outdoor arts sector.  You’ll learn approaches and techniques in the design and making of parade costumes, willow-based lantern puppets, and running community workshops.  You’ll see what’s needed to deliver a successful parade event before, during and afterwards.

BUZZCUT Festival will return from 30 March - 2 April 2023, with an in-person Festival of experimental performance and Live Art across Glasgow! They

are looking for artists of all levels of experience working in Live Art and contemporary performance who are looking for a lively & welcoming environment to experiment & share their work.

The Lowry’s Scratch Nights are back and following our very successful scratch night collaboration with the Horizons Collective back in February, we are pleased to announce another exciting collaboration with our visual arts team at The Lowry.  

We are now inviting performance, visual and media artists whose work has a live element to take over our gallery spaces, and share exciting new work and ideas as part of our Scratch Night on Saturday 12 November 2022. Four artists will be selected to share new work, and we are able to support performances of up to 20mins for a ticketed audience and longer durational work for a drop-in audience.

Dance4 and DanceXchange are merging to form a new single strategic organisation called FABRIC. FABRIC is launching a new residency programme to provide artists based in the UK with money, space, and staff time to explore new ideas and support the realisation of projects. We have a total budget of £50,000 (not including access costs) to distribute across a minimum of 8 projects.

Dip and Dab’s Christmas Mix-Up is a fun, humorous and entertaining Christmas show written especially for primary schools. We are looking for an energetic, professional actor who would like to join our team. You must be positive, hardworking and a team-player with a can-do attitude! We are looking for performers with high-energy and an ability to improvise. Singing and dancing ability is also desirable. Candidates must live in Yorkshire, be able to drive, have access to a car and be prepared to travel across the whole region. Cast are responsible for get in and out and generally deliver 2 shows a day Monday to Friday (10am and 2pm) Pay is approx. £750 per week. Rehearsals will take place early November and the tour will run from 28 November – 23 December.

We are inviting UK based artists, designers, performers, activists, coders, makers, researchers, facilitators, and creative technologists to submit proposals for workshops, artworks or performances.

This year’s Control Shift theme is Feeling Machines, and we are looking for works exploring how digital technologies intertwine with the most intimate aspects of our lives. The programme takes a deep dive into the sticky, messy, fluffy ways that we live our lives within the binary logics of digital machines. Artist fees between £250-£1,000 depending on the scale of the work.
