SLAPmoves Prize

Performance, mentoring and space opportunity for students and recent graduates.

SLAP would like to announce an exciting opportunity for individuals and companies who have graduated within the last year and final year students.

The SLAPmoves prize is all about emerging art from the next generation of pioneering talent. SLAP invites recent graduates and final year students (of dance/theatre/film whose themes of focus are based upon ‘movement’) to submit proposals of work for the chance to be shortlisted for a professional platform on the 9th of April at the Guildhall, attended and judged by industry specialists and the audience.

The successful artist or company will then be offered a place in Yorkshire dance’s spring platform dedicated to the region’s most exciting emerging talent, taking place on May 1st. The artist will also receive a £250 bursary, three days of studio space, a one to one meeting with a producer, artistic mentoring and technical support.

9th April - SLAPmoves Platform in York
w/c 20th April - Winners residency at Yorkshire Dance
1st May - Winners Performance at Yorkshire Dance

There are no funds avaliable towards travel / expenses for the first performance on the 9th of April. The winners of the evening will receive a £250 bursary for their time.
