Hello we’re Jamhed and we’d like to have a little word with you. You see we’re not very fond of the word serious, it makes everything sound a little serious, like some sort of serious disease. We much prefer the word fish, pineapple face or play, yes let’s go with play because that sounds like a friendly friendly word. It feels warm and inviting, it gives us the horn. We’re going to play with words, objects, each other and you. Expect cardboard, a banana and twister. We’re not playing the game we’re going to play a game, join us if you like we won’t force you to. It’s only a game.

This project examines the theme of dependence in an unconventional but functional relationship. A dominant woman leads a submissive man around the festival. His eyes are glued to her and he follows her tacit orders. Within their own world they toy with the boundaries of their relationship.

With the inspiration of Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road”, the dancers takes the audience to a 10 minute mayhem-fiesta. Happiness shared with others.

I ask you, what is dance?  In this task based improvisation groups of four dancers must travel from points ‘A’ to ‘B’ without Dancer 1 touching the floor. Exploring and enjoying the chosen environment dancers interact to complete the task efficiently.  The question is.. Are We Dancing?
